Del and Lyndon's 3000ers attempt

Despite a gloomy weather outlook, Del and Lyndon, who contacted us some time ago to help guide them over the Welsh 3000ers in under 24hours, were all smiles.

Both self confessed gym junkies but with limited experience in the hills and little to no experience in the mountains, they made excellent time on the ascent to Snowdon, and actually enjoyed the clag!

Unfortunately for Lyndon, an ankle injury sustained a few weeks ago reappeared and although he could still walk and insisted on battling on, we were forced to make the decision to descend back to Nant Peris after climbing Elidier, when his ankle turned.

They both showed excellent fitness and are definitely capable of completing the walk in under 24 hours and, despite their disappointment of not completing, are determined to take it on again next summer - and they are are now inspired to get out in the hills more - and after weather conditions that could have put anyone off!

Del and Lydon were doing the challenge to raise money for cancer charity.
