It seems to have been raining non stop for over a week now. Even so I've been enjoying getting back into consistent training and decent millage. This has been helped by Iain running with me alot lately (he's easing off for a month or so and after all the hard work he put in this year he deserves a bit of a break - which still includes over 40 mile/3000m ascent a week but less speed work and racing).
So the pure enjoyment of running has been rekindled. Sorely needed after a month or so of plummeting fitness due to intermittent, unmotivated running - somewhat due to goals being changed due to various issues (finding out merely 3 days prior to various international events of my non-selection due to passport problems for example) but largely due to not planning my year properly and sticking to it - instead I'd do races I shouldn't have (but these were actually the ones I enjoyed the most....) and trying to squeeze too much in. Also, not training consistently but running 'how I feel' was not a good training plan. Anyway - shit happens - you've just got to get on with it.
Touch wood, my injury and sickness issues seem to be a thing of the past. I'm sure I'll get the odd problem, but the constant flow of problems seems to have subsided. Its all good.
