Last day so made the most of a weather window

Last day on Skye - gale force winds continue and more snow has settled so I feel I have done as much as I can for now - certainly glad I came up - starting to feel I am knowing the ridge better now!

There was a brief moment of sunshine this afternoon so I ran and grabbed it! The weather came in just before I got to the summit of Bruach na Frithe where the ice, wet rock, wind gusts and fresh loose snow (graupel) underfoot made going quite slow - so with the clouds streaming and some faint rumbles reminding me of being stuck on a ridge in a graupel thunderstorm years ago, I didn't feel too wussy backing off just short of the summit! By the time I'd dropped down a little the tops were encased in angry grey clouds and I was pretty glad I wasn't in them.

The ascent was an exercise in temperature management! The hoods on the gear I've been given by Rab were amazingly useful - and infact without the Xenon jacket I would have had to retreat well below the snow line as the winds were quite strong and chill significant! Very impressed with the kit!

Its been a great trip despite the weather - and great fun working with Lukasz and Wojtek! Bring on the summer weather!
